Image
Social media marketing is one of the best strategies a business could use to help promote their brand. It brings awareness to your current audience and introduces your brand to new audiences. It is a great way to get the word out about the product and services your business provides. It can do things like improve brand loyalty, people who follow brands/companies on social media tend to remain loyal to them. Another benefit that goes along with what I said before is it helps with brand recognition, the more networks you are on and the more you post the more your brand will be see and recognized by others. For cost purposes, it will help lower your marketing costs because social media ads through Facebook and Twitter are relatively cheaper than other advertising methods. Another benefit of social media marketing is better customer experience, most people now a days communicate and connect through social media and they are more engaged on these networks. If you give your consumers a gre

Now using all of that you can get certified in Google AdWords. Some great things about getting certified in AdWords is that it is free, great knowledge of how to start ads for your business, and can help you get further in your career. Week 9 (MKTG 347) - Social Media Monitoring

Image
The practice of social media monitoring is also known as social listening. I'll also be informing you about social analytics which is a good way to look at how efficient your social media efforts have been. Some of the most important parts to social media marketing is to put content up on social networks and initiating conversations. A really important aspect to social media marketing is listening to your consumers and what they think of your business and it's product and services. Social media monitoring can be divided into two categories owned media and earned media. Owned media is social media page or properties that are in your control. Earned media is when people start conversations or share your posts. Monitoring your social media can help you figure it out if you have a crisis situation. When a company has a PR crisis it can be very costly for the company and can cause a lot of damage, so monitoring people's opinions and thoughts about your company is a good way to

Week 8 (MKTG 347) - Self-Inventory Part I

Image
Once traditional job-hunting methods have failed and you are still in need of a job self-inventory is another good method to help you achieve your goal of finding the job for you. An inventory of who your are can help you in your job-hunting process because it is good to know who you are, what you like, and what you are good at. By evaluating yourself and all the aspects that make you who you are it can help narrow down jobs that are more in your favor. Some reasons why doing a self-inventory works is because by doing this you learn to describe yourself in many different, thus helping you approach different job-markets. Another reason this method helps is because you don't have to wait on companies to say they have a vacancy you can go out and find one that matches you and approach them yourself. One last reason this is helpful is because unemployment is frustrating and an interruption in people's lives, this interruption can help lead you to different opportunities, as well

Week 8 (MKTG 349 OL) - Ad Extensions

Image
To make your ads more competitive, some easy ways are adding links and extra information through ad extensions. To get a better idea of how ad extensions will help you do a search result yourself and take a look at it. To create a site link you need to decide on the main sections your site people will be interested in. You can also do this in AdWords and you can go to the ad extension tab click on the site link extension button. You can see the performance of the site links. It increases your clicks and your click through rate as well. This will really help you get people's attention. Ad extensions will really help your business and get your campaign and advertisements out there. It provides you with great access to more tools that will only help benefit your business. Its a really easy process to go through, especially if you already have an AdWords account which I have mentioned in my previous blogs. Week 7 (MKTG 349 OL) - Campaign Strategies

Image
A great way to really make your campaign even better is by getting help from Google. Google can scan your ad after it has been running for a while and it will send you some suggestions on keywords, you do not have to use what they suggestion but it is a helpful tool. You can email a support email to get more help or you can call the toll-free number that they provide, getting a little help on your campaign won't kill you and will only help benefit your campaign. You can run multiple ad in an ad group and get feedback on all those after a week if you want. Another great tool to use is phrase match which allows your ad only to appear on a user's screen if they include that exact phrase in their search. Google also provides opportunities for your ad after scanning it, it can provide these opportunities immediately after scanning the ad or later overtime. By clicking the "learn more" link on AdWords you can explore a lot of things to improve your ad and to understand th

Week 7 (MKTG 347) - What do you do when the job-hunt isn't working?

Image
I know the job-hunt can be difficult and it may not always be the way that you want it to be, but you know that's life. Here is some advice to you from job-hunters who struggled getting a job, but were successful in the end, and there one advice is to never give up! There are two different strategies to finding a job, the first one is the traditional approach, which is looking into the job-market and looking at ad posted online and off by employers. Then you find a few that you are interested in doing. Then you fix up your resume and send it to all the places you are interested in and if this doesn't work post your resume everywhere! If the traditional approach did not work for you there is another way that might, its the parachute approach. With this approach you do not start with the job-market, you start with yourself. You figure your skills and the things that you like in a job, you try to look for a job that satisfies what you like and know how to do best. Do not wait un

Week 7 (MKTG 347) - LinkedIn

Image
Having a good presence on LinkedIn is one of the most useful things in to a business to business company. If you are a social media marketer a priority for you can be to improve your LinkedIn profile and make it as strong as possible. Try to maintain a good presence on LinkedIn, try checking in twice a month and staying on for more than 20 minutes at least. Look into groups and make your profile professional and organized for clients and other businesses. You can even find job postings on LinkedIn and for businesses it can be a great way to advertise your business. LinkedIn isn't always B2B, it can also be B2C (business to consumer). LinkedIn can be a bit confusing at first, I can tell you personally I was lost on how to use it and where to go to look at specific things and how to connect with people when I first used the website. The trick to get passed this confusion is to use it regularly, the more you use it the more you know how it works. Do some research while your on it an

Week 6 (MKTG 347) - Salary Negotiations

Image
Salary is one of the main things you need to discuss before you accept a job offer. Always be sure to ask before you accept, because if you don't you may receive a really low pay and you probably don't even know it. Do not start negotiating your salary until the interview is over and they have expressed interest in having you at their business. About the time they offer you the job, then you should ask about the salary. Sometimes employers will ask you in the beginning of the interview process, try responding by saying that you will happily answer that, but first you would like to know more about what the job involves. Now for the bidding of the amount of your salary. An employer may be willing to pay you $25 and hour, but want to try to get you for $16 an hour, you can basically ask for pay any where in between the range of $16 - $25. You can negotiate the highest pay, but the employer wants to save money so from there you can try to negotiate a salary that is not too low an

Week 6 (MKTG 347) - The Power of Twitter

Image
Twitter is one of the best social media applications to get the word out about your business. Especially if you are targeting millennials, so many of them use this app and are able to retweet other people's tweets for their followers to see. There are certain techniques to help you develop and maintain a presence on Twitter. A good presence on Twitter can do your business so much good, but can also do so much bad. If your company is well known and many follow it on social media, one mistake can give it a bad name. For example, the United airlines, they had a whole fiasco when people were being removed off the plane for no reason or for a really dumb reason, well on social media they were ripped apart, people spread the word about how unprofessional the airline was and decided to take their money elsewhere. So, if you want to be a well known brand be careful of what you do because social media apps like Twitter can also be a downfall to your company. Twitter is limited to 140 ch
