Week 15 (MKTG 347) - Google is Your New Resume

Back then when the Internet was barely used for anything employers would have to make an assumption as to what kind of person you were through your resume, a piece of paper that you wrote. Now, all an employer has to do to know more about you besides from your interview and resume is through Google. All they have to do is search your name and they can find things like your social media networks, your websites, and if you have been on someone else's Facebook page. They can see a lot of your personal life and it will help them determine if you are a good candidate for their business.

There are a few things you can do to help the case of your Google resume, the first is to edit, which means you need to Google yourself look at anything that pops up and remove posts you do not want your employer to see on your social media or websites. After that if you are able to fill out a profile on your accounts specifically Twitter or LinkedIn, I recommended filling it out and making it look nice. Next, try to expand your presence on the Internet by joining groups or organizations on LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook. You could even start a blog to help you expand even more. Lastly, add your resume any where that you can like LinkedIn or employment websites. All these things can help make your Google resume look a lot better for employers.

By learning search engine optimization and developing skills needed for it, you can use this to help get a job in that field. A great way to really help you get that job is by using the knowledge and skills you have gained and get a certification in SEO. You can get certificates in Google AdWords and Analytics, also in web-analytics. All this will help make you more skilled in SEO and more qualified to obtain a job in that industry. When thinking about getting a job in this field, look at the main goals of the job. SEO looks at building content, social, search, and analytics. Another great place to get certified for search engine optimization is through HubSpot. On HubSpot the amount of material and tools it offers is top-notch. They promote themselves using inbound marketing and they make your content relevant and vibrant. I personally have certifications in both AdWords and HubSpot and I can tell you they come in handy. Week 9 (MKTG 348 OL) - What to do Next?

To get more information on artificial intelligence I will be offering you some more options on where to gain more knowledge about it. I have only given you a little introduction into AI, but there is still so much more to learn about it. One way you can learn more is through books, I recommend reading Master Algorithm , the book I mentioned in my previous posts. This book is a really good way to get into AI more, but in a good pace, so you are not thrown deep into it. You can take more course on AI, I am sure you can find one near you! This is probably the best way to develop skills on artificial intelligence. AI is definitely not easy, so taking a course is the best option if you think you might struggle understanding it. Coursera is another way to take courses about AI, but you can earn a certificate through this way.
