Week 5 (MKTG 349 OL) - Monitoring Your Campaign
When running your ads and your account for your campaign one thing to remember to do is monitor it. The first thing to do when monitoring your campaign is to set the time frame. Time frames help you know trends so you can get a sense of how everything is going. If you want to change your time frame, you can go to AdWords ad click on the date range drop-down menu that you can find in the upper right corner. There are several options you can choose from and you can pick the one that works best for you.
The next way to monitor your campaign is by checking how many clicks your ad gets. You are the one paying for these ads to be put up, so you will want to know how much attentions it is getting. A better way to see if people actually went through your ad is to look at the click through rate. This will tell you more than just how many people clicked on your ad, but how many people went through it and read it. You may have 200 clicks, but only 10 people may have actually viewed it.
Another way to make sure your campaign is doing good and that everything you have set up is going well is to monitor your keyword performance. When you first created your campaign you could put keywords that relate your ad, so when people search those keywords your ad will pop up. On AdWords you can see how well your keywords performances did and how much click through rate it had. These are just some great things to look at on AdWords to make sure your campaign is doing well, the more you monitor it, the better success your campaign will have.
