Week 3 (MKTG 347) - How to Help You Solve Your Problems in the Job Hunting World

Now a days in order to get a job you need more than just a Bachelors degree. If you have no work experience your degree isn't always enough to get you a job. Back in the day the unemployed took only about 5 weeks to find a job, well times have gotten harder, between 17% to 30% of the unemployed take over a year to find a new job. Since I have been working since my senior year of high school I have been able to get jobs a little more easily, especially since I worked in my High School as a bank teller. EarthMover Credit Union had its own branch within my school and they offered students a chance to work as bank tellers and I decided I would do it. To work as bank teller you had to have many skills, and the skills are used in many other work places which is why I seem to get jobs more easily. But for those of you who can't find a job so easily these are the things you need to be aware of when looking for employment.

When looking at job boards it can be broken down into these categories.

1. Search Engines

3. Niche Job Boards
4. Company Job Boards
5.Job Boards for Particular Ages

Some things that can help with job hunting are:

- You are the given, meaning you can either take the traditional route where you shape yourself to fit the job or the creative route where you try to find a job that fits you.

- The importance of self inventory

- Search for what you love, not for just what you can do.

- Always prioritize

- Always have alternatives

By learning search engine optimization and developing skills needed for it, you can use this to help get a job in that field. A great way to really help you get that job is by using the knowledge and skills you have gained and get a certification in SEO. You can get certificates in Google AdWords and Analytics, also in web-analytics. All this will help make you more skilled in SEO and more qualified to obtain a job in that industry. When thinking about getting a job in this field, look at the main goals of the job. SEO looks at building content, social, search, and analytics. Another great place to get certified for search engine optimization is through HubSpot. On HubSpot the amount of material and tools it offers is top-notch. They promote themselves using inbound marketing and they make your content relevant and vibrant. I personally have certifications in both AdWords and HubSpot and I can tell you they come in handy. Week 9 (MKTG 348 OL) - What to do Next?

To get more information on artificial intelligence I will be offering you some more options on where to gain more knowledge about it. I have only given you a little introduction into AI, but there is still so much more to learn about it. One way you can learn more is through books, I recommend reading Master Algorithm , the book I mentioned in my previous posts. This book is a really good way to get into AI more, but in a good pace, so you are not thrown deep into it. You can take more course on AI, I am sure you can find one near you! This is probably the best way to develop skills on artificial intelligence. AI is definitely not easy, so taking a course is the best option if you think you might struggle understanding it. Coursera is another way to take courses about AI, but you can earn a certificate through this way.
